Jessica Licciardello is a painter, designer, composer, and arts writer with over 20 years of experience in the creative world. She’s worn many hats—Creative Director, illustrator, gallery assistant, brand storyteller—and through it all, her love for the arts has remained at the center of everything she does.
Artist in the City is her personal lens into galleries, museums, and unexpected art spaces throughout New York City and beyond. This blog is a space for reflection, discovery, and connection—a place where Jessica shares the work that moves her, the artists that stay with her, and the moments that remind her why art matters. With a background in studio art and art history, and a career that’s ranged from designing large-scale installations to retouching National Geographic images, she brings both insight and heart to her writing.
Jessica’s also the creator of 8 Minutes to Freedom, an award-winning multimedia project and short film that explores survival and transformation through art, and her public installation Heartwork: Love Taking Up Space reclaims commercial space for emotion and beauty. Her work has been exhibited internationally, collected in over 15 countries, and published in outlets like Forbes and BELLA Magazine.
Through Artist in the City, Jessica invites readers to slow down, look a little closer, and fall in love with art all over again.
